THE JOHN NÉMETH BAND, FEATURING JUNIOR WATSON
Singer, harmonica player, and songwriter John Németh is a rising star in the Blues world. His decade long career includes performances at major music festivals around the United States and Europe.  John is a traditional Blues singer whose style resembles that of B.B. King or Ray Charles. He is a topnotch harmonica player, whose playing has been compared to Sonny Boy Williamson and Little Walter.  His songwriting credits encompass Country Blues, Little Walter-style laments, and Jump Blues.  John has recently signed a multi-record recording agreement with Blind Pig Records.

Junior Watson is considered by many to be one of the finest Blues guitar players around.  With nearly thirty years of experience, Junior has created an original guitar style all his own, but he certainly leans toward a vintage sound.  He was a founding member of the Mighty Flyers and played with Canned Heat for ten years.  Watson is wildly creative; as evidenced by his 2005 festival appearances with Norwegian Guitarmageddon.

Németh's latest release, "Come And Get It", features the Junior Watson Band. The album has received rave reviews. "John Németh is a natural-born Bluesman, and he proves it with every note he sings, shaping each one with emotion, taste and inspiration. The subtle inflections and references to masterful singers bring fresh surprises with repeated listening." (Blues Review).  For more information, visit John’s website (http://www.johnnemethblues.com/).  While you are there, listen to a couple of tunes.

BACKSTAGE BLUES BAND
Backstage Blues features Tom Kwas on lead guitar and vocals; Rudy Alaniz on bass guitar and vocals; and Don Utterback on drums and vocals.  Founded in the 90s and reformed in 2005, Backstreet Blues has played all the major blues venues in San Luis Obispo County and to the north.  Their musical influences range from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton and Robben Ford to the more traditional forms such as Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson.  Playing from over 80 years of combined experience, the band plays with the passion and enthusiasm true blues lovers have come to appreciate.

VOLUNTEER
Your Blues Society is run entirely by volunteers. Besides a sense of accomplishment, volunteers get into the shows for free and receive a couple free drink tickets.  We could use your help, so call 541-7930 (our voice mail number) and volunteer to work a shift at the show.
